Widget opening links in the parent window instead of a new window?
How do we make the widget open a link in the parent window instead of a new window. Looks like the default is target="_blank" and we have not been able to adjust this setting.

Inappropriate? What type of widget are you referring to? A blidget or some other type? If you're referring to the blidget, you cannot adjust this setting.

Inappropriate?I think widgetbox's widget from feed is a blidget correct? Then yes, we have one of those. Let's hope widgetbox developers take this feedback and adds a trigger to open links in the parent window. This is a necessary option to run the widget in many places.

Inappropriate? We'll certainly look into this, but generally, it's a bad user experience for someone to install a widget on their site that takes traffic away from their site. This is why the blidget, specifically, does not take over the parent.
-
Inappropriate? That is one reason. From a marketer's point of view, it will be more flexible to have an option to open in the same window. Many marketers will want to use this on their own websites ;) so having this option would increase the viral opportunities of the product in my opinion.

Inappropriate? Thanks again Mealto. It's certainly a decent option, possibly on the subscription-level. We'll be sure to keep it in mind!
-
Inappropriate? On the free level, this would be a great option. If it is only offered in for paid users, then it's not that useful. I understand your team is still improving your products & services and probably still finding ways to monetize but having a good option to help with viral marketing benefits everyone, including widgetbox, thus should be free in my opinion. ok, i will stop beating a dead horse now :)

Inappropriate?Sorry. To clarify: subscribers are people that install a widget. They install a 'subscription' of the widget to their site. There's currently no pay-for model for the blidget. Just wanted to clarify in case you run into that terminology on the site.

Inappropriate?Doh! That helps. Subscription-level sounds like the paid version. Thanks for the clarification Dave. We look forward to this feature in the near future :)
