Widget opening in new facebook page instead of "self".

We built a custom widget using the javascript option and it works great in the developer module. It also uploads to facebook just fine. But the widget opens a new window in facebook and runs fine in that window.

We want it to embed in the main page and function on that page instead of opening another window.

Whats the trick? Does it have to be flash enabled? I hope not!
