Why do links lead to framed version of blog?
When I click on the links in my widget, it doesn't take me to the site - it takes me to a framed version of the site. Why? Many of my friends have widgets from here that don't do that.

Inappropriate?Hi Ace,
This is a new feature that we're in progress of rolling out to previously made blidgets.
Upgrading to Blidget Pro will remove the bar:

whats wrong? -
Hey there,
Looks like the blidget that you've pointed to is not set to Pro. You'll need to go into the editor and turn on the Pro features by selecting "Pro" in the top right corner. Then you can turn off the linkbar option at the bottom of the page.
Hope this helps! -
Inappropriate?Ah. How nice. Thanks.

Inappropriate? Not sure if this is the same but it sounds like the same problem. Only i have already activated the Pro option and my pro credit has dropped by 1 point so i must have done that correctly. In any case i created widget/blidget/whatever you call it and added it to my main page at my Ning group site at: http://thatsbogus.ning.com/
The widget has a few links in it and when i click on the links they open up to a new page and all is OK except that i get this pink header box with a warning stating the following:
"We're sorry, this site can't be embedded in a frame.
If you're trying to set up your own domain for your Ning Social Network, please click here for more information on how to set it up properly. Or, click here to go to the original site."
The point is that the page is opening up in a framed page. Even though i have pro activated.
Is it possible to fix this or is it a Ning issue? -
Hey there,
The Linkbar is actually an option (some Pro users like to keep it to allow people to spread their content). So now that you're Pro, you'll need to go into the blidget editor and find the linkbar checkbox at the bottom of the page (in the Extras section). Go ahead and uncheck that box, Publish Changes on your widget, and you'll be all set!
Hope this helps. -
Inappropriate?HI Dave. thanks for the reply. Actually the links i'm talking about are links i want to be there. they are links that direct visitors to the part of the site that will inform them further and allow them to sign up for the newsletter. So when you click that link you get the following result. This happens on ning and i know it is common but not sure why the links open up in a frame page? Wht can't they just open the page as though it were a regular link like anywhere else that i include a link?
Here's a screenshot of the result after i click through. BTW - i removed the link bar and re-published as you suggested.

HI there,
The frame is the linkbar. If you want links to open up directly, you can't have the linkbar. It works by using frames. -
p.s. the big ugly pink block is all ning. -
Inappropriate?OK ...maybe i need to understand exactly what a link bar is? Going by what you say the "link bar" must be created when i create a link in the text i wrote there myself. Is that correct?
Sorry for my lacking in comprehension but I thought you were referring to something that was an option and attached to the widgets appearance (like a tool bar).
So if i'm understanding you correctly, it is impossible for me to create any widget and include a link to another page without it having this affect in ning (i do realize that's a Ning pink thing - starting to sound like a Dr. Suess book :)).
It is therefore not possible to type in my own text (under a tab as i have done) and then add a URL to something that may say "click here" and have it open to a page without frames.
Is that correct?
If not then please explain what needs to be done clearly and in detail.
It may just be simpler for me to use regular HTML in the text boxes provided instead of adding widgets and if that's the case then i don't need to have a pro account.
Thanks for your help so far. -
Inappropriate? If you create a free Blidget, any link that you click in the blidget will lead to a page with a bar at the top of the page with the Widgetbox logo and some share icons as well as an advertisement.
If you're talking about widgets, not blidgets, then we don't frame anything in. Either way, this is starting to sound a lot like a question for Ning.
