Viral installer preview
Hi. The viral installer how-to says it allows users to customize my widget on my web site but I don't see any interface for customizing the widget.
I have created, tested, and installed my HTML/JS widget. The widget is customizable with several options. (It looks nice on my site, btw. Thanks for making it so easy.)
I have copied the viral installer code and placed it on my web site. When I visit the page, all I see is the "Get Widget" button. When I click it, it shows me the interface to copy the code but I don't see any options for customizing the widget.
So I'm confused. How do users customize the widget on my web site? And how do they preview the widget before grabbing the code?

Inappropriate?Hey Harry,
For the added functionality of external configuration, you'll need to build a form. You should be able to find plenty of detailed info here:
http://docs.widgetbox.com/developers/...

Inappropriate?Do I set up the preview interface as well? How are people doing that? Submit via Ajax and pull down the widget code to render a preview?

Inappropriate?Hey Harry,
Currently, developers cannot render an updating preview instance during config of the widget. The general usage in the past has been that you can us the remote config and viral installer if you're setting up basic fields (such as username, etc.), but for advanced cases, you'll need to send your users back to Widgetbox.
We'll certainly look at adding the functionality to configure a widget instance on the fly (which would be needed to update a preview), but we currently don't have any docs to support this due to the lack of demand.
