Open social api
Hi there
I have been submitting my widget to different places and got this email
Hi,
By social we mean that you should use the OpenSocial API and any of the
main features it
enables(http://code.google.com/apis/opensocia...),
currently we are not adding any iGoogle gadgets on the directory. Please
read the guides to get more information about the API use.
Does anyone actually understand what that means does this mean i have to create my widget differently ? I dont understand what that means
Any explainations welcome
Woc

Inappropriate?Hey Woc,
Sure thing. It means that although you can use the tool to add a widget for yourself, they're not accepting applications into the directory that do not leverage social functionality, like sending out a newsfeed to your friends that you clicked a link, or spamming your buddies to add the app.
I'm guessing that this was form Orkut, but it could easily be from any platform. Their acceptance criteria are all fairly different between the galleries and change quite a bit.
As per the other threads about adding to OS galleries, they're all under review currently and will be blocked off or resolved depending on what we find.
Thanks much.
