New advert intrusion
My current RSS feed widget has stopped working and it seems the old account is closed. So i had to create a new one, in doing this i now get fed widgetbox adverts in the middle of my feed. What happened to the old account, has anyone else had this problem?
And i had to create another account to post in this forum, how inconvenient. this used to eb a great service not so impressed anymore

Inappropriate?Hi there,
Sorry you're not happy. If your old account is unavailable, it means that cancelled your account at some point in time (unless it was disabled for SPAM or malicious activity).
As for advertising, your old blidget would have it as well. We've rolled out ads in free content. To remove ads, you'll need to upgrade to Widgetbox Pro.
As for signing up on GetSatisfaction, this is a seperate service that we use to host our forums. If you were logged into Widgetbox, your accounts will be linked, so you won't have to sign in twice in the future.

Inappropriate?Hi
Getsatisfaction i was already signed in to widget box and even tried to sign in using those details. I guess I must have done something wrong as i had to re-register.
http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/Community/ this is the link where the old widget is and you will see that it has stopped updating (it is link to our main rss feed on the home page) and there are no adverts showing.
I understand that you NOW need to upgrade to eliminate the ads it's one of the few things that you can find immediately on your site.
FYI i have not cancelled my account i can assure you. There is a chance that it was registered to an old email address however having tried to search under these email addresses your system has not recognised them...which i thought it would have at least recognised the email address even if no longer in existence here, maybe?
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate? It looks this blidget is pointing to a feed that doesn't exist anymore.

It looks like the user that owns this blidget still active. It's tough to deal with disabled user accounts over the forums without violating your privacy, but the e-mail associated to this account is:
Firstname.lastname@emap
The username is the same as your GS username. Does this help? If you know the e-mail address (and still have access to it), you can reset your password here:
http://www.widgetbox.com/signin/forgot/
For obvious reasons, I can't change the e-mail address on that account without some way to verify that you own it.

Inappropriate?Since this morning the widget nwo reads feed not accesible. Maybe linked to the emap email address, which sadly i can't access anymore so can't change the password
No worries, most of our 400,000 users a month do go via our homepage anyway and this rss feed is just really for those who frequent the forum and may not immediately see the latest homepage articles....but eventually they will, was just an added extra really. So i'll just remove it.
I may however consider using the widgets on another page at a later date, the adverts that are displayed are just widgetbox or do you have plans to add in further external advertisers?
I’m indifferent

Inappropriate? The ads displayed in-widget are from a series of ad partners, all run through our Ad system.
Sorry to hear that you're giving up on the blidget! Making a new one is a snap if you decide to give that a shot.
All the best, SJ!
