How do I edit the widget to show ONLY the most recent post?

Currently the blidget only shows the 10 most recent items in your feed. To only show the (1, 2, 3, etc.?) most recent feeds, you'd have to use a service like feedburner, dapper, pipes, etc. that can make you a custom feed or alter your original feed.
