hi5 gallery publish rejected
Hi, my hi5 app is being rejected when I try to publish it to the gallery/directory- I have followed the instructions in the "wizard" and the app seems to look ok to me, but the publishing to the directory/gallery gets rejected:
Your application: [app] was rejected on hi5 for the following reasons:
.App is showing ads on profile.
Redirecting links on profile module.
I also get this notice:
Dear Application Developer,
Thanks for submitting your application "Environment: Random Graphic of the Day" to the hi5 Platform. We hope you've been having a pleasant experience so far.
We are personally reviewing every new application to ensure our developer partners and our users get the best possible experience with applications on hi5. We identified the following issue or issues when reviewing your application, which are preventing the application from meeting requirements for approval into the gallery:
Application functionality on profile and/or canvas page is limited: Please make sure that the profile module satisfies these requirements:
a. All the functionality of the profile module should be fully visible or there should be a scroll bar that allows users to see anything that is not visible in the space allotted to the profile module.
b. Make sure there is some action on the profile module, or a link, that takes the user to the canvas page. This will also mean that when a user that doesn't have your application views the profile module and clicks through, they will go to the install page, which will increase your installs.
c. Consider adding functionality that will allow hi5 users to interact with your application on their profile and to introduce the application to their friends. This will help increase adoption of your application by situating user interaction within the context of their other hi5 activities, and also by encouraging virality.
d. Offsite links away from hi5 or pop-up windows are not allowed on the profile page. You may only include these kinds of actions on the preview or canvas page.
e. Advertising links or content, including Google ads, are not allowed on the profile page. You may only include advertising content on the preview or canvas page.
f. Actions leading to pop-up windows or additional browser plugin installations require a corresponding warning on the canvas page to the user.
Once you make the changes to your application, you can resubmit it for review. Feel free to email us after resubmitting your application with the changes listed above, and we will take care of approving it right away. Also, if you think our understanding of your application is in error, do let us know.
Regards,
hi5 Support

Inappropriate?Hi there,
I'd suggest contacting hi5 support if you have a question about their gallery submission guidelines.
The company says
this answers the question
-
Inappropriate?I don't really have the time/energy to dig too much into this, but you might want to refine the app creator for hi5 if it creates apps that are not working in their gallery.
-
Inappropriate?Hi frax,
The tool enables you to submit to their gallery, but it doesn't mean that you can just put whatever you want in there. The error that you were rejected for was for the content of your widget, not our wrapper.
Thanks for the feedback.
