Inappropriate? What particular widget is not showing up? Is it on your profile page or canvas page?
-
Inappropriate?Facebook had/has some issues with compatibility between new profiles and apps. If you roll back to Original Facebook, you'll be all set with your app. Widgetbox will start supporting the new profiles soon, but we have to wait until higher percentage of Facebook users are on the new profiles.
-
Inappropriate?Hi Dave,
Our potential users are complaining about this. People have spent a lot of time reorganising the settings on the new facebook layout and think that these will be lost by rolling back to the old facebook.
When will you have the issues solved? It's a shame to lose potential customers because of it. What percentage are you looking for? My users are early adopters.
How are things going two weeks in to the problem?
Many thanks,
Nicola

Inappropriate?Hey Nicola!
Here's the way it is: You can use our current implementation to work with new Facebook profile pages by copying the POST-ADD URL into the POST-AUTHORIZE REDIRECT URL field.
We're working now to support both old and new profile pages in the short-term, which just means that people will have to fill out one extra field, which will be useless for new profiles (POST-ADD URL). We expect to have this change out shortly.
This will require all Facebook app developers that have used our accelerator to go back and enter the data for the POST-AUTHORIZE URL on their own.
So in short, you can get around things by copying one field, which should quiet any groans form your potential users (I hope).
Hope this helps, but just let me know if you have any trouble.
I’m amused with Facebook

Cool. Many thanks. -
This solution didn't work for me. I am convinced its reactive to a security setting within my computer. My facebook apps work, just not on MY computer. -
Inappropriate?I'm trying to get my app to work with the new facebook, and copied the post-add url in to the post-authorize redirect url, but am still having the same issue. Whenever someone tries to add the app, it redirects in a loop for eternity....
Am I doing something wrong? -
I am also experiencing this looping behavior.
If the application is removed from the profile then re-adding it via the typical add URL works in old and new Facebook. If hitting the add URL on a profile with the app already installed, that is when the browser redirects indefinately.
Adding the Post-Add URL into the Post-Authorize Redirect URL field didn't seem to make a difference. -
Inappropriate?Hey Ansen,
I just went back through and accelerated a new app successfully. Unfortunately, since I can't see inside your Facebook developer app, I can't really tell what you may have done wrong. I'd suggest deleting your application on the Widgetbox side and stepping back through the accelerator, following the steps carefully. -
Inappropriate?Hmm...ok. I'll go through and double check everything. I do have one other question...the app works fine for those adding it to their profile, but when it is added to a page, it doesn't actually appear on the page. If you go into the page's settings, it says that the app is there and has been added, but even when you make sure the privacy settings are wide open, the box itself is not showing up.
Any idea what could be going on there? (Thanks for your help!) -
Inappropriate? We currently don't support Facebook pages. They used to not give you the option, but maybe something changed in the recent FB upgrades. Widgetbox Facebook applications only support being added to profiles.
I’m thankful for our users.
-
Inappropriate?Good to know. As an FYI, it does indeed give users that option now. Thanks again for your help.
I’m good.
-
Inappropriate?Ive done all this also and still I get a redirect loop, I added through your accelerator, and tried it the normal way, no help, and then I copied the add to the post auth. and still getting the loop. any suggestions?
I’m a lil frustrated, but sure we'll find a fix
-
Inappropriate? It's the POST AUTHORIZE REDIRECT, not the POST AUTHORIZE. And you'll need to be on the new profile page type, as we've found out. If all else fails, delete your app and recreate it, following each step carefully.
-
Inappropriate?Yeah, sorry I wasnt more specific, I copied it to the post auth redirect, no luck and I just recreated my app, and still infinite loop.
-
Inappropriate?Hmmm... well, all I can do is create my own app, following the steps carefully, and ensure that it works properly. This is working, so I have to imagine that you may have missed a step. Unfortunately, since I can't see into your developer app on Facebook, there's not much more that I can do at this point other than suggest that you continue going over the steps until you find which one you may have missed.

Inappropriate?Hi,
My application works perfectly in old facebook. But, In new facebook when any new user try to join it takes to TOS page. When user press allow on TOS page. This go for infinite loop url. I don't understand what is going on? pls help me yaar. Because of I am newer with facebook and also i don't find any article on this topic excluding this one.
Thanks...! -
Inappropriate?Hi Mayan,
There's another thread that I have to put this out in as well, but Facebook has an open issue that we're waiting on them to resolve. It results in this infinite loop. The specific problem with with the logic in add.php on Facebook if you're interested. -
Inappropriate?I would try and follow this on facebook but a zillion pages would open redirecting redirecting redirecting. This is an ongoing issue I have had with facebook AND myspace. Check this out....ONLY ON MY COMPUTER! If I log onto facebook from a friends computer or my daughters computer upstairs...it works perfectly. So, its some single setting on my laptop and I am searching for the answer. Help!!!
-
Lori,
It sounds like your computer has some pretty substantial issues. I'd take these up with your system administrator or try installing a new browser.
