A comment on the question "Google Audio Widget not displaying correctly in Internet Explorer" in Widgetbox:
Hi Dominic!
I've been having some server troubles lately, so that may be the issue. Also, check which version of Flash you're running. Older versions (or Lite versions) may not work with the widget.

Actually, I did some more research for you...the "Viral Installer" is being phased out to some degree. Here's the up-to-date docs for the External Site Configuration:
http://docs.widgetbox.com/developers/...
You can use this to create forms, too. Create a form where each input corresponds to a parameter in your widget (such as the date). Then include a hidden input (input type="hidden" name="_wbx_external" value="1"). The action="" parameter on your form should point to the gallery page for your widget. Users will configure the widget on your site and then click through to Widgetbox.

Matt Basta replied on November 01, 2009 21:27 to the question "Why doesn't my widget box tweet search display the same results that I get when using the actual twitter search" in Widgetbox:
Hi Ron
Unfortunately, you can't use very complex queries in your search terms. Widgetbox's search implementation for Twitter is not 1:1 with Twitter Search. Your best bet is to perform a search on Twitter, then use the RSS feed that Twitter provides for that search as the RSS source for the blidget. You won't get user icons, but you'll get the content you're looking for.
Hope this helps!

It seems like you're looking for the Viral Installer. Check out the Widgetbox KB for info on this:
http://docs.widgetbox.com/developers/...
Beware, the docs are (really) old. You might need to do a little digging.
The other method is to take advantage of the widget.regId parameter on the widget to kind of keep track of who the user is. This can be insecure and tough to track, though, so I don't recommend it for anything "mission critical".

Matt Basta replied on November 01, 2009 21:01 to the question "Adsense code into Flash widget?" in Widgetbox:
Hi Auntlee
It seems like you're putting the Adsense code that Google gives you into your ActionScript. Unfortunately, this can't be done: the code Google gives you is HTML and you can't put HTML inside Flash.
An easy "tweak" is to consider using Mochi Ads instead of Adsense (since you're using Flash). Here's some info on their API:
http://www.mochimedia.com/developers/...
You shouldn't need to change your embed code at all---Widgetbox takes care of this for you (you give it the URL of your Flash file and it figures out what the embed code should be)
Hope this helps

Ok, so I figured it out. I guess you have that thing that Facebook has where it does lazy loading on messages beyond the fold. When you press "select all," it doesn't select messages that haven't loaded yet. You need to scroll *all the way* to the very bottom so that all of the messages load, _then_ mark them as read.
Thanks for your help guys

Twitter is from ancient GreeceMy Twitter shows that I "always" have 300 unread messages. I really don't.
Could it be because I have an API whitelisted account?
Matt Basta replied on September 18, 2009 21:40 to the question "How do I get Widgetbox's "Flash MP3 Player" to recognize my XSPF file through yolasite.com?" in Widgetbox:
One other note: you need a crossdomain.xml file in the root of your site. For reference, check out mine:
http://cdn.serverboy.net/crossdomain.xml
Notice that it isn't in any folders. Your crossdomain.xml file MUST be on the same subdomain as your playlist.
Matt Basta replied on September 18, 2009 20:09 to the question "How do I get Widgetbox's "Flash MP3 Player" to recognize my XSPF file through yolasite.com?" in Widgetbox:
Hi all!
I'm releasing a new version of the Flash Mp3 widget this afternoon. It includes an updated parsing engine. Please make sure all XSPF feeds:
- Have a playlist title (a <title></title> element in the <playlist></playlist> tag)
- Have proper information for each item (title, location, image, etc.)
Also, XSPF feeds should (from here on out) be served with the MIME type text/xml. On most servers, you can save your feed with a .xml extension and this will already be properly configured.
Thanks!
Matt
