George replied on October 19, 2009 18:36 to the question "How do you create a new blog post?" in Widgetbox:
Hi Norman,
We don't offer a way to create a new post for your blog. We are a web widget platform that provides useful and fun widgets for your blog or social network.
Let us know if you're trying to install a widget to your blog. We can help you with that. If you're trying to create a new post to your blog, consult your blogging platform help system.

George replied on June 10, 2009 21:23 to the question "What browsers do you support?" in Widgetbox:
To browse and develop on Widgetbox, you need a modern web browser with JavaScript and Adobe Flash enabled (9 or later). We officially support Firefox 2 and 3 (Mac, Windows, Linux), Safari 2 and 3 (Mac, Windows), and Internet Explorer 6 and 7 (Windows). We do not support Internet Explorer 5 (Windows, Mac).
Because of the nature of the Web and web technologies, we suggest using a web standards compliant, modern browser that's relatively new but not beta. Currently, we would recommend Firefox 3 or Safari 3 to get the best possible experience from Widgetbox and the rest of the Web.

Unfortunately, we do not support this level of customization on the "Get Widget" button at this time. It's a great idea that we'll consider for our product roadmap.

Hi Paul, I'm able to get to and see your widget from the direct link you posted just fine in Widgetbox. It seems to be working fine. Are you still having problems seeing it?
As far as upgrading to Pro, it appears you already are a Pro account. Once you're Pro, we no longer offer the option of upgrading (since you already are).

Doing a quick search in the Widgetbox gallery, I did happen to find this one:

I'd also suggest looking through the rest of the widgets tagged with amazon:

George replied on June 09, 2009 04:28 to the question "404 error "syndicate" not available???? huh???" in Widgetbox:
Hi xpert,
The most likely culprit to this issue is that your HTML-based widget has links that are relative versus being absolute. So when any of those links are being qualified on our site, it's completing it with our syndication server.
If this is the case, try making your link references absolute (http://www.mysite.com/link.html) instead of relative (/link.html). This should hopefully resolve the issue.
George replied on June 09, 2009 04:23 to the question "Can I change of position and personalize the "get widget" image" in Widgetbox:
HI Paul,
You can't change the position or look of the "Get Widget" button but Widget Pro users have the option to hide the Get Widget button on a per widget basis. (Blidget Pro has now been rolled into our Widgetbox Pro account offering.)
A Widgetbox Pro account allows use of the Blidget Pro Editor to make up to 10 Pro blidgets and unlimited Basic blidgets.
You can learn more about Widgetbox Pro here:

George replied on June 09, 2009 04:18 to the question "I need specific instruction on how to change a link target" in Widgetbox:
Hi Ruth, sorry about that dead link. I've updated the instructions to this:
The most common problem with widgets is in its links. Widgetbox renders each widget in an iframe and thus its links need to target _blank or _top. If you can't easily get at each link to change the targeting, you can insert the code snippet "Links in New Window" from the Insert Snippet dropdown menu in the Widget Code Editor of the Widget Studio. This is available for HTML/JS type widgets. For form submittals, trying adding target="blank" to the form tag.

George replied on June 08, 2009 14:38 to the question "Upgraded to Pro, but still seeing a "get widget ad". The report form under the widget to report something like this doesn't work." in Widgetbox:
If you're trying to turn off the "Get Widget" button located at the bottom of the widget, you'll need to uncheck this option in the Customization Settings located to the right of the widget on the widget details page:

Uncheck the option label "Include "Get Widget" button on install. Then customize the widget to your preference and click either Get Widget button.
If you already got the widget, go to your Installed Widgets list and find the widget and click on the widget's name. Look for the same "Include 'Get Widget' button." option here and uncheck it. Then click "Publish Changes".
